NORFOLK - Police are investigating an early morning shooting in Norfolk.
Police received reports of gunshots in the 7500 block of Tidewater Drive early Monday morning. When police arrived, they found one man shot.

At the Southern Shopping Center on the corner of Tidewater Drive and Little Creek Road, investigators search for clues from the late night shooting. Marty Fentress the shots heard from across the street.
"It was either 3 or 4, I'm positive it was 3 and it could have very well been 4,” said Marty Fentress, a witness at the scene.
Before police arrived, Fentress also heard commotion coming from a group of vehicles in the parking lot.
"Then I see these SUV's sitting there and doors opening and closing and people running around screaming and then the vehicle behind it the same thing,” said Fentress.
Police are not saying what happened in the moments leading up to the gunfire but they say the victim was shot in the stomach. Medics whisked the injured man into a waiting ambulance.
Police are still trying to track them down whoever shot the man.
Fentress says he's seen so much crime in this area, and it never seems to go away.
"Even back through times you've always had a little bit of crime but when you see it building, building, building and then in about the last 10 years it's just got totally out of hand," said Fentress.
Police have not released the victim's name but they have said that he is expected to survive. No suspect information is available at this time.
