PORTSMOUTH (AP) -- Portsmouth fire officials say carbon monoxide poisoning from a generator running indoors has killed a third victim.
Fire department spokesman Capt. Paul Hoyle says 43-year-old Brenda Lashley died Thursday night at Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center in Norfolk.
Hoyle has said authorities went to the rental home last Wednesday after getting a call from a contractor who was scheduled to work there. A fire official said firefighters found a gasoline generator operating inside.
Two men -- 86-year-old William James Lashley and 47-year-old Isaac Lee Bowser -- were pronounced dead on the scene. Brenda Lashley had been hospitalized in critical condition.
