PASQUOTANK CO., NC -- Investigators in Pasquotank County discovered dozens of marijuana plants at a home on Birdie Lane in Elizabeth City.
There was also an irrigation system, grow lights and a ventilation system found in a converted garage, investigators say.
"They actually followed a very detailed thing on growing plants indoors, kind of like you'd do in a nursery," said Sheriff Randy Cartwright. "They're following the same thing, except this is being grown totally without daylight."
The Pasquotank Sheriff's Office raided the home, which belongs to Virlenys Palma, who works for the Twiford Law Firm. Her husband, Osmany Palma, was arrested in South Carolina after police found 30 pounds of mairjuana in his car.
They have two children living in the house, according to investigators.
No arrests in the case had been made as of Thursday afternoon.
