WILLIAMSBURG (AP) -- Lorena Ochoa and Annika Sorenstam, the two best female golfers in the world, look to take control of the Michelob Ultra Open on a day when heavy morning rain turned flagsticks into targets and made more low numbers seem likely.

Play started as usual, on schedule at 7:15 a.m. Friday. But downpours stopped play at 10;51 a.m. Play resumed at 11:19 a.m.

Scotland's Mhari McKay tied the course record with an 8-under 63 to grab the first round lead at the LPGA Michelob Ultra Open on Thursday. That gave her a one-shot edge over Annika Sorenstam and Sun Young Yoo on a day that yielded plenty of sub-par scores.

Lorena Ochoa and Diana D'Alessio trail by two shots with six others three off the pace. There are eight golfers just four shots back.

90 of the 144 golfers in the field equaled or broke par.
