NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- Harris Teeter grocery chain is recalling an ice cream brand they say contains wheat flour, which can trigger severe allergies in some.
The containers of Hunter Homemade Chocolate Satisfaction Ice Cream are not properly labeled. The packages feature a UPC number 7433660047.
The high-end grocer has stores across northern and central Virginia, including locations in Reston, Ashburn, Newport News and Arlington.
The North Carolina-based chain also has stores in that state, in Georgia, Maryland, South Carolina, Florida and Tennessee.
Anyone who purchased the product can return it to the store for a refund and replacement, or call 1-800-432-6111.
Wheat flour allergies are common among sufferers of celiac disease. Up to 3-million Americans are believed to have the condition, which can cause fatigue and severe stomach pain.
