CHESAPEAKE -- A Chesapeake man scratched a $100 Million Cash Extravaganza ticket and won $1,000,000.
Bobby Reed was on the phone with his wife when he scratched the Virginia Lottery ticket and saw that he was a winner, but did not tell her. He said he could not believe his luck, and didn't want to tell his wife until he was sure the ticket was a winner.
Thursday, Reed received his ceremonial check for the amount and says he plans to use the winnings to pay off debt.
Reed, who works in public safety, said he happened to drive by the South Military Citgo on South Military Highway and decided to purchase the ticket.
