CURRITUCK CO, NC -- In response to the rising number of bank robberies, a Currituck County bank's "no hats, no hoods, no sunglasses" policy for customers begins today.

"The simple act of removing hats, hoods and sunglasses in The Bank of Currituck branches will not only help deter a would-be robber, it makes it much easier to identify and capture anyone that chooses to," Matt Converse, president and CEO, stated in a release.

Converse says people who won't comply will still be served, he adds they'll be watched "a lot more closely."

The Bank of Currituck has branches in Moyock, Camden, Grandy, Corolla, Kill Devil Hills and Southern Shores .
