The former Virginia Tech standout was bounced from the team on Friday after he stomped on a player's leg during the Gator Bowl and after school officials found that he was charged with driving on a suspended license and speeding from a December trafffic stop in Hampton.
On Monday, the Newport News native turned himself in to a Suffolk magistrate on three misdemeanor counts of brandishing a firearm.
Police said Vick, 21, pointed a weapon at three people, including a 17-year-old man, while they argued in the parking lot of McDonald's on Townpoint Road about 9:00 p.m. Sunday.
The mother of that teenager called police to report the incident.
Vick's bond was set at $10,000 and he's due in court on Wednesday.
If convicted, he faces up to a year in jail and a $2,500 fine on each count.
On Saturday, Vick announced through his lawyer that he was going to go pro. He also said he regretted allowing his "competitive emotions to take control" then said he looked forward to proving his athletic ability at the professional level.
That same day, Virginia Tech President Charles Steger expressed disappointment in events that forced Vick's removal and said it was "apparent that Vick was not able to abide by the terms of his reinstatment and that he no longer derserved the privilege of playing Virginia Tech football."
