Pizza delivery driver robbed at gunpoint in Portsmouth
12:35 PM EST on Thursday, January 8, 2009
PORTSMOUTH -- A Domino's Pizza driver was robbed making a delivery Wednesday afternoon.
It happened just before 2:00 p.m. on Pullman Avenue.
Det. Jan Westerbeck says the delivery was ordered to 210 Pullman, but that number didn't exist, so the driver called the number given with the order.
A man yelled for the driver to come to 200 Pullman and, when he did, police say he was robbed by two men, one with a gun.
They took his money and personal items, including a cell phone.
Westerbeck says the suspects told the driver to leave and keep walking and not to return to the block.
She said it's the second robbery of a pizza delivery driver in that area in the past two weeks.
Details of the previous robbery weren’t immediately available.
