Langley Raptors, airmen deploy for Western Pacific

About 200 airmen from board a plane for a two month deployment.
HAMPTON -- More than 500 airmen and 12 F-22A Raptors from the 27th Fighter Squadron will deploy this week for about two months in the Western Pacific.
About 200 airmen from Langley Air Force Base left Tuesday, along with airmen from Elmendorf, Alaska.
The remaining will deploy Wednesday when the Raptors fly out.
In 2003, the 27th Fighter Squadron was announced as the first operational squadron to fly the Raptor.
This is the second deployment for the 27th Fighter Squadron. The first was in February 2007, noted MSgt. Anthony Davis.
