Arrest made in Suffolk rape investigation

SUFFOLK -- Police arrested a man for a rape two weeks ago in Suffolk.
DNA led police to Christopher Rashard Taylor, who was arrested Monday, according to authorities.
Police say the 21-year-old victim said she was kidnapped from the landing of her apartment on Forest Oak Lane Friday morning. She told police she was forced at gunpoint to drive to a wooded area where she was tied to a tree, raped, and stabbed. The suspect then stole her car.
She escaped and made it to the street, where she flagged down a car on Old Dill Road.
Police recovered the her car on Adams Street, about a mile and a half from her home.
Taylor, who lives on Baker Street, is charged with three counts of rape, one count each of abduction with the intent to defile, armed robbery, aggravated assault, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, cut, stab or wound in the commission of a felony and carjacking.
Spokeswoman Debbie George says the victim and Taylor didn't know each other.
