Man assaulted outside Suffolk grocery store

SUFFOLK – A man was slashed while being assaulted by two young people late Monday night.
It happened around 11:25 p.m. outside Willie’s Grocery in the 1500 block of E. Washington Street.
According to authorities, the victim said he was standing near the soda machine in the parking lot when the two started their attack.
He told police he tried to run but the two followed him to N. 8 Street and continued their assault.
Stephenson was treated for stab wounds to his abdomen and left upper arm.
The suspects, ages 18 to 20, wore blue jeans. One had a red hooded sweatshirt and the other wore a black hooded sweatshirt, according to police.
Nothing was taken during the assault.
