Kids cry for the darndest reasons. And now we get to laugh at them in a new book.
Reasons My Kid Is Crying, published April 1 by Three Rivers Press, is a compilation of children throwing tantrums, captioned with the trivial reasons they're upset like "I wouldn't let him dig through the trash" and "I played the wrong Jungle Book clip on YouTube."
It all started when dad Greg Pembroke posted a photo online of his then-three-year-old son throwing a tantrum "because his bit of cheese broke in half."
The post evolved into the viral Tumblr Reasons My Son is Crying, which documented "all the many many completely logical reasons that children cry" through the lens of Pembroke's two young sons. As the website's popularity grew, he started receiving submissions from other parents who embraced the absurdity of their kids' temperament.
