VIRGINIA BEACH  - A new calendar featuring pictures of local lifeguards is now on sale.

The “Sons of Summer" calendar is presented by the Virginia Beach Lifeguard Association to help raise funds for public education and training programs.

“The Virginia Beach Lifeguard Service is like a family,” says Kent Hinnant, the current chief of the lifeguards and the son of the local service’s founder. “We are happy to share some of our family photos and have a little fun with it in an effort to help us continue to save lives and spread the word about water safety.”
