NEWPORT NEWS – For two years, a man wearing a fake beard has robbed businesses in three Peninsula localities.
Now, police say they have their man.
38-year-old Ronald Carr was arrested Thursday night on more than 60 charges, including robbery, abduction and use of a firearm.
Newport News Police spokesman Lou Thurston said Carr was caught after officers were called about someone stealing from cars in the area of 16th Street and Garden Drive around 9:15 p.m.
Authorities believe Carr has robbed fast food restaurants, “dollar” stores and other businesses since December 2010.
More charges were expected to be placed as the investigations continue, police added.
