ETTRICK (AP) -- The Virginia State University Board of Visitor is holding an emergency meeting Monday.

Media outlets report that the meeting follows a series of incidents. They include the fatal shooting of a student off campus late Thursday, a melee and stabbing during homecoming celebrations, and the banning of the football team from the CIAA playoffs.

Students, faculty and faith leaders in the community held a unity prayer rally Sunday night.
