SALVO, N.C.---Neighbors living off of Wimble Shores Drive in Salvo say even light rains flood their streets these days.

They say the problem started after a new campground began construction in their backyards this year.

"They brought in fill. Once they brought in fill, it caused flooding here when it rains," said Judy Sagan, a Wimble Shores resident since 2002.

Zoning officials in Dare County tell 13News they're aware of the drainage problems in this area, but there's no timetable for when neighbors will see relief.

"When you havea lot of standing water mosquitos come with it. tourists arent going to like that," said Sagan.

The neighborhood has also sent a letter to the county commissioner but it's gotten no response.
