CAMDEN CO -- A kindergarten teacher accused of sex crimes will go before a judge Friday morning.
Samuel Byers is accused of molesting a 14-year-old student at Camden Middle School 12 years ago.
The allegations surfaced when Byers confided in a friend, who went to police.
He was arrested earlier in September at an elementary school outside of Raleigh where he was teaching kindergarten.
Byers was appointed a public defender the week before his court appearance.
