EDENTON, NC- Two people were shot at a convenience store in Edenton, NC.

Police say Thomas Edward White Jr. opened fire at Crown Food Mart on Saturday afternoon and wounded 35-year-old Maurice Mabine and 29-year-old Trenita Jackson.

"They were customers and were inside the store when shot. The shooter was at the door shooting in," Edenton Police Chief Jay Fortenbery told WVEC.com.

He also told WVEC.com that the shooting was the result of a confrontation between White and Mabine and that Ms. Jackson was an innocent bystander.  

White is wanted on charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
