2 men escape from minimum-security prison in NC

MORGANTON, N.C. (AP) — Authorities are searching for two men who escaped from a minimum-security prison in North Carolina.

The state Correction Department says authorities are searching for 21-year-old Brandon Curry and 23-year-old Justin Ramey. A department spokesman says the two escaped Wednesday night from the Foothills Correctional Institution in Morganton.

Both men are from Cleveland County.

Curry is serving seven to nine years for robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony breaking and entering and possession of stolen goods. He was scheduled for release in January 2015.

Ramey was serving nine to 11 months for felony breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods and various misdemeanors. He was scheduled for release in July 2010.
