CHESTER, Va. (AP) — A Petersburg man has been sentenced to 38 years in prison for the execution-style slaying of another man in a factory parking lot in Chester.

Chesterfield Circuit Judge Michael Allen called Christopher Tyrone Clagon's shooting of 25-year-old Chesterfield resident Shawn Wiley brutal and unprovoked at Tuesday's sentencing. Besides first-degree murder, the 27-year-old Clagon was convicted of felonious use of a firearm.

Three witnesses testified during Clagon's trial last fall that he shot Wiley three times in the chest with a shotgun on April 1, 2008, in the parking lot of Pre Con Inc. According to testimony, Clagon fired two of the shots as he stood over the fallen Wiley.
