NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (AP) — A federal grand jury has indicted seven people that prosecutors say are leaders of a violent street gang based in Newport News.
An indictment unsealed this week says the men are members of a gang known as the Black P-Stones. The indictment says the group committed murders, robberies, drug trafficking and obstructed justice. Among other things, the men face racketeering and conspiracy charges.
The indictment says members displayed their gang affiliation by wearing clothing, hats and bandanas with the colors red, black and yellow and by displaying distinctive tattoos, burns, hand signs and handshakes.
The indictment also says the Black P-Stones clashed with rival gangs.
