RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina House speaker Thom Tillis is naming Republican legislators who will head key committees for the General Assembly's new session.
Tillis says he will re-appoint Republican Rep. Tim Moore of Cleveland as chairman of the House Committee on Rules, Calendar, and Operations. Moore will continue overseeing the schedule and flow of legislation and interpreting the rules of the chamber.
Rep. Nelson Dollar of Wake County will lead the House Appropriations Committee. The remaining chairmen of the House Appropriations Committee are: Rep. Mitch Gillespie of McDowell; Rep. Linda Johnson of Cabarrus; Rep. Bryan Holloway of Stokes, and Rep. Justin Burr of Stanly.
The House's new two-year session will begin in January.
