VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — A convicted bigamist was found dead in a Virginia Beach apartment three days before he was to be sentenced in Chesterfield County for his multiple marriages.
Authorities say 41-year-old Isaac C. Custalow Jr.'s most recent wife, Shannon Denton, found him dead early Saturday when she went to a bedroom to check on him. Denton's mother, Jolynn Nassar, told the Richmond Times-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/rVrfTy ) that police told her Custalow overdosed on drugs.
According to authorities, Custalow married four women in 11 years without getting a divorce. He married Denton in July.
Custalow pleaded guilty to a bigamy charge in April and was scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday.
