SOUTH BOSTON, Va. (AP) — Authorities say a man's body has been found in an old well in Halifax County, and the man's wife, teenage son and mother-in-law have been arrested in his death.

Halifax County sheriff's investigators on Monday found the body of Eric Wynn more than 40 feet down the well on his property near South Boston. Investigators say Wynn was shot once in the head in early April.

Media outlets report Eric Wynn's 35-year-old wife, Connie Gayle Wynn; his mother-in-law, 57-year-old Debra Kaye Scribner, and 15-year-old son were charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy.

Connie Wynn and Scribner are being held without bond at the Blue Ridge Adult Detention Center in Halifax. The teenager is being held at the W.W. Moore Detention Center in Danville.
