RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A house fire has killed two people and injured two others in Richmond.
Richmond Fire & EMS Lt. Shawn L. Jones says a person in the house reported the fire at 1:51 a.m. Wednesday.
Jones told The Richmond Times-Dispatch that two people in the wood-frame house were dead when firefighters arrived. The causes of the deaths haven't been determined.
One person escaped and firefighters helped another get out. Both of the injured suffered smoke inhalation and were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Firefighters brought the fire under control in about 15 minutes.
The fire remains under investigation.
