Does it Work: One Touch Cordless Knife
12:10 PM EST on Tuesday, November 18, 2008
PORTSMOUTH - As the executive chef of Still, Worldly Eclectic Tapas in Olde Towne, Mike Farrell constantly has a knife in his hands
"It's my most utilized tool in the kitchen," he says.
So he put One Touch Cordless Knife to the test. It claims to be the fastest and easiest way to cut any food.
First, Farrell puts in six double a batteries and attaches the blade. Then he cuts an onion.
“It cuts through but much slower than I can with my regular knife," he notes.
Farrell also finds he has to exert more pressure than he usually does with his own knife.
After using it on a few other items, Farrell finds it works great on cheese.
"It cut through the soft cheese with no problem. It's probably better as a carver than a regular everyday kitchen knife," he believes.
After slicing and dicing with One Touch, Farrell says, "To me, it seems more gimmicky, more difficult to use than a regular knife. I would stick with my trusted old knives"
One Touch Cordless Knife costs $19.99.
