Details on Republican candidates for the 3rd Congressional District seat in Arkansas. The Democratic Party candidate, David Whitaker, is unopposed.


Birthdate: June 26, 1944

Bledsoe is a first-term state senator from Rogers. She has served in the Senate since 2009, and served in the state House from 1999 through 2004. She is the former vice president and office manager of her husband's surgical clinic.

DeLay is an attorney and a partner in the law firm of Rush, Rush & DeLay. He served as a state representative from 1995 through 1999 and served in the state Senate from 1999 through 2003. He ran unsuccessfully for the GOP nomination for the Third District congressional seat in a 2001 special election that was held when then-Rep. Asa Hutchinson resigned to take a post with the Bush administration.

DeLay was the GOP nominee for attorney general in 2006, but lost the election to Democrat Dustin McDaniel. He served as Sebastian County prosecutor from 2007 through 2009.
