RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — As the presidential race sprints toward its uncertain finish in the electoral battleground of Virginia, President Barack Obama has scheduled a campaign stop in a suburban Richmond park.

Obama will appear Thursday afternoon at the Carillon, a landmark structure in Richmond's Byrd Park.

Polls show that what had been an edge for Obama over Republican rival Mitt Romney is now a tossup in Virginia.

The event is open to the public and tickets can be picked up at no charge at any of five Richmond-area Obama campaign offices.
