NORFOLK -- It's not just Democrats condemning GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney for keeping silent on the war in Afghanistan during his convention speech.

A 22-year-old Navy reserve veteran who voted for John McCain in the last election joined the choir of critical voices at a Monday news conference held by Barack Obama supporters.

"Mitt Romney released at 59-point economic plan in which the word veteran is not used one time," said Tyree Nelson of Chesapeake.

Romney was at the Military Aviation Museum in Va. Beach on Saturday, where he talked about the need to maintain a strong military.

"It's time to have a rebuilding of our Navy to make sure it's the strongest in the world," he said.

The Romney campaign says the GOP nominee will be Reno, Nevada on Tuesday to speak to the National Guard Association.
