RICHMOND -- Attorney General-elect Mark Herring announced Thursday that Hampton City Attorney Cynthia E. Hudson will serve as his Chief Deputy Attorney General.
"I am honored, humbled and excited about the opportunity to continue my public service in this broader capacity, and I very much appreciate the confidence Attorney General-elect Herring has placed in me,” said Hudson. “By thinking anew about the role of the office, we can meet and exceed the public’s expectations.”
In this new role, Hudson will oversee the day-to-day legal operations of the Attorney General’s office and work with Attorney General Herring to provide top-level professional legal services to the Commonwealth and all Virginians.
Hudson has been the city attorney for Hampton for the past eight years.
