PurpleStride Tidewater run brings awareness to pancreatic cancer

VIRGINIA BEACH -- Put on your running shoes and take part in the first PurpleStride Tidewater to help raise awareness of pancreatic cancer.  

It's Saturday, April 5 at the 31st Street Park in Virginia.

It is sure to be a day filled with hope and inspiration as the Tidewater area strides together for the first time to help end pancreatic cancer, organizers say.

Events include a timed 5K Run and Untimed Walk, children's activities, music, refreshments and more.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., opening ceremonies at 8:45 a.m. and the the event begins at 9 a.m. Click here to see/download a map of the route.

After the run, stay around for the the festivities featuring Virginia Beach’s very own The Original Rhondels.

The goal is to raise $125,000 for pancreatic cancer research.
