VIRGINIA BEACH - Give a four-legged friend its freedom this Independence Day holiday by adopting them from your local SPCA or shelter.

This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (July 5, 6, and 7), the Virginia Beach SPCA is celebrating with its "Paws for Independence,’ featuring cats age one and up and select shelter favorite dogs for an adoption fee of just $17.76 (to commemorate the signing of the Declaration of Independence.)

However, freedom being all too important during this holiday as well, cats age one and up with stripes will be FREE.

Potential adopters can come and find their forever friend anytime during the adoption event and give them the gift of freedom with a new family this Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Please note, the VBSPCA will be closed on July 4th, but the promotion will run from July 5th to the 7th. Contact the VBSPCA at 757-427-0070 or visit the Va. Beach SPCA Website.
