Consumer Minute: A busy day for UPS and a possible mobile merger

If you're planning to head to the post office today be prepared for some company.  Today is the busiest pickup day for the post office and UPS.  The post office will see six million pieces of mail today alone.  The folks at UPS will do twice the normal volume with about 34 million packages being picked up across the world.

Could a possible merger be in the works for two of the nation's largest wireless carriers?  The Wall Street Journal  reports that Sprint is interested in buying T-Mobile.  But that deal would likely face some government hurdles.

If a new car is on your holiday list then you may be in luck.  Experts say shoppers can usually work a deal and get eight to ten percent off sticker prices!   They say the reason is dealers are clearing out old models and sales people want to reach year-end goals.
