The price to fill up your gas tank is on the rise again.  In just the past week the average cost of a gallon of regular gas in the U.S. has risen five cents to $3.56 a gallon. In Hampton Roads the average cost has risen a little more than three cents in the past week to $3.36 a gallon for regular.  Prices at the pump have been on the rise since Feb. 7.

The cost of gas isn't the only thing on the rise.  The price of fueling your body is also going up.  New government numbers show food prices are skyrocketing.  This year we could see the biggest increase in food prices in more than three years.

Here's a way to possibly add money to your pocket.  Microsoft is pulling out all the stops to get Windows XP customers to update their operating system.  The company is now offering a $100 discount to those who upgrade to a Windows 8.1. This discount is the second offer from Microsoft in the last three weeks.

Apple is reportedly in talks with Comcast about a joint streaming television service using an Apple set top box.  If the deal goes through it would be a new level of cooperation between technology and cable TV giants.
