We're starting off the New Year paying more at the pump.  The average price for a gallon of regular gas nationwide is $3.33.  Here in Virginia we're paying a little less, $3.25 a gallon.  That's still about an increase of six cents from last week.

Something else going up is the minimum wage workers are paid in 13 states.  That's good news for about two and a half million workers. The biggest increase is in New Jersey where voters decided to increase it by a dollar an hour.  The highest minimum wage can now be found in Washington State.  Workers there will earn $9.32 an hour.

For the fourth year in a row Ford says it is the best-selling brand of autos in the United States.  The company has seen double-digit sales growth in cars, trucks and utility vehicles.  Technically Toyota sells more cars and trucks to individuals, but Ford has high fleet sales.
