Women cast off Sunday for breast cancer research

VIRGINIA BEACH -- Spend the day on the water and help raise money for breast cancer research.

The annual Chesapeake Bay Wine Classic Foundation, Wine, Women and Fishing (WWF) is Sunday, August 17.

This popular event has raised more than $300,000 for breast cancer research at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk.   

Don't worry if you've never cast a line before - it's open to women of all levels of fishing expertise.

After fishing, enjoy the after party with music by Guava Jam .

All activities take place under the big tent at Southside Marina, 416 Southside Road in Virginia Beach.

Fishing: Lines in the water at 8:30 am and out of the water at 3 pm.

Dock party: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Watch the decorated boats come in to the weigh station while enjoying great refreshments and North Carolina Shrimp!

The awards party, music and dinner are from 7 p.m .to 11 p.m.
