USS Mahan leaves Tuesday for Persian Gulf

NORFOLK – The guided missile destroyer USS Mahan is on her way to the Persian Gulf.
Family and friends of the approximately 275-member crew stood pierside at Naval Station Norfolk as the ship pulled away from her pier.
The crew will conduct maritime security operations with international forces.
The Arleigh Burke-class destroyer is commanded by Cmdr. Richard Miller Jr.
