RICHMOND – Jets from NAS Oceana in Va. Beach will fly over downtown Richmond Thursday during the 2008 Virginia Wall of Honor Ceremony, officials told WVEC.com.
The event will recognize the 170 Virginians killed while serving in the global war on terrorism.
Attorney General Bob McDonnell will host the ceremony at the State Capitol, which is free and open to the public.
A UH-60L Black Hawk Helicopter, along with F-18s of Strike Fighter Squadron THIRTY ONE (VFA 31), the "Tomcatters,” will conduct the flyover. There also will be a 21-gun salute.
Thursday's ceremony starts at 3:00 p.m. on the South Portico of the State Capitol.
