VIRGINIA BEACH -- The Navy and first responders practiced their emergency response skills at NAS Oceana on Tuesday.

The drill comes as the master jet base gears up for the NAS Oceana Air Show on September 20-21.

The Navy, the City of Virginia Beach, state responders and Sentara Virginia Beach General and Sentara Princess Anne hospitals dealt with a "crash" that occurs on the flight line during an air show, officials stated.

The air show was cancelled in 2013 due to sequestration, but the Pentagon announced the show would go on this year.

Among the performers: The Blue Angels flight demonstration team, skywriting teams, aerial acrobatics by Vertigo Air Shows.
