Body of missing boater recovered in Albemarle Sound

Update 11/4:  The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said the body of 42-year-old Jimmy Dwight McKinney was recovered Monday after falling off his boat into the Albemarle Sound on Sunday.

Update 11/4:  The Coast Guard sent an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew to search  Monday.  Several deive teams are also searching for the missing boater, officials said. 

EDENTON, N.C. (AP) -- The Coast Guard and North Carolina officials are looking for a man who reportedly fell overboard from a boat in Albemarle Sound near Edenton.

A response boat from Coast Guard Station Elizabeth City and crews from the North Carolina Marine Patrol and the state wildlife department also were resuming the search Monday morning.

A motorist driving on the NC Highway 32 bridge told the Coast Guard late Sunday morning that they saw a person fall overboard from a 39-foot boat. Another person found the boat with just a dog aboard.

A Coast Guard helicopter also took part in the search Sunday, as did a Chowan County marine Police boat.
