Memorial service for 2 Ft. Eustis soldiers killed in Afghanistan

FORT EUSTIS-Two Fort Eustis-based soldiers killed in Afghanistan were remembered by friends and colleagues at a memorial service Tuesday afternoon.  

Specialist Caryn Nouv of Newport News and Sergeant Eric Lawson of Stockbridge, Georgia died in an IED attack on their vehicle on July 27.

Both were assigned to the 359th Transportation Company, 10th Transportation Battalion, 7th Sust. Bde., which deployed to Bagram Air Base in January.

The service was held at 3:00 p.m. at the Fort Eustis Regimental Chapel.  

Nouv joined the Army in March 2009 and was a cargo specialist and Lawson was on his third tour of duty, according to to the Army.
