The 24th annual Holiday Salute is one way to say thank you for your service and thank you for the many sacrifices families make.
The Commander of the First Fighter Wing at Langley Air Force Base certainly appreciates the efforts of his airmen.
"They are making a tremendous sacrifice. To be away for the holidays means that they're standing point and doing the mission, maybe here at Langley, keeping our alert posture up and running. They may be deployed. We have many of our airmen that are deployed at forward operating locations, standing point, day and night. And they do that so that you and I can enjoy our holidays and our freedoms," said Colonel Matt Molloy, commander, 1st Fighter Wing.
Holiday Salute airs twice on WVEC -- Thursday at 7:00 p.m. and again on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
