It’s welcome home to the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Legare.

She’s back in Portsmouth after nearly four months off Western Africa, where the crew helped stop piracy, drugs and illegal fishing.

Legare’s crew also did humanitarian work -- painting classrooms at the Ndiaye School in Dakar, Senegal and the Children’s Emergency Center in Praia, Cape Verde.

After tying up to the pier, Vice Admiral Robert J. Papp Jr., Commander, Coast Guard Atlantic Area,  presented the ship and crew with the Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendation.
