WACHAPREAGUE – A 71-foot pleasure boat is stuck inside the breakers near Wachapreague on the Eastern Shore.

Because of the weather, a salvage ship can’t reach the boat, so the three crewmembers of the Laura J will be removed from the vessel this afternoon.

The boat ran aground around 9:30 a.m.

The Laura J has 9,000 gallons of diesel fuel on board, but there is no sign of pollution or debris.

The Coast Guard has a pollution response trailer from Chincoteague on site, just in case.

A 25-foot Coast Guard vessel out of Station Wachapreague is also on scene.
