FORT BRAGG, N.C. (AP) — The Pentagon said a member of the Army's 82nd Airborne Division remains missing after being ordered on a resupply mission in Afghanistan two weeks ago.

A Pentagon statement said 23-year-old Sgt. Brandon Islip of Richmond, Va., has been missing since the encounter in Bala Murghab, Afghanistan on Nov. 4.

The Defense Department had already announced that 21-year-old Sgt. Benjamin Sherman of Plymouth, Mass., was killed while engaged in the mission.

Both soldiers were based at Fort Bragg as members of the 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division.

A division spokesman did not return a call Wednesday seeking more information.
