From Va. Beach Police

A silver suitcase and samples of moon rocks were stolen from a car in Va. Beach.

Virginia Beach Police were called to Garcia Drive about 3:20 a.m. Tuesday, January 10.

Someone had forced their way into the vehicle and taken a projector and the silver briefcase. They belong to NASA contracted instructors, who use them for educational purposes.

The rocks are sealed inside two clear plastic disks labeled with identification numbers and the words "meteorite samples" and "lunar samples."

The samples pose no risk to the public.
