WILLIAMSBURG -- A bicyclist was hurt when two men tried to steal her purse.

Police say she was riding with a friend on Richmond Road around 3 p.m. Sunday when a man stepped in front of them and told them to stop.

While he started talking to them, the second man came up from behind her and grabbed her purse, pulling her to the ground, Major Greg Riley told WVEC.com

During the struggle for the purse, the strap broke and the two men ran to a car and drove away, he added.

They didn't get her purse, Major Riley noted.

The biker was treated for a broken finger; the other cyclist wasn't hurt.

The only description of the suspects is that one is white and the other is black.
