NORFOLK - The weather isn't bad enough in Hampton Roads to stop flights, but some aren't taking off because of the snow and wind to the north.

Some flights to and from New York, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia out of Norfolk International Airport were already cancelled, but others were still scheduled to arrive Friday.

Flights south are in better shape.

"I can consider the whole part about planes coming in from other places that weren't actually going to come, so I guess we got lucky with this flight this morning because it's coming from Miami and going back to Miami," said Peggy Morierty with LEGENDS ELITE Softball Team.

The team is headed to Florida for a big tournament.

Checking at Newport News-Williamsburg International, a US Airways flight due in from Philadephia and one scheduled to go there have been cancelled.

Officials stress you should check with airlines and the airport websites before heading out to find out the status of your flight.
