YORK COUNTY -- Fire crews were called to battle a fire at a florist shop in Yorktown Wednesday night.

Firefighters recieved the call at Willows Fine Flowers and Gifts in the 400 block of Grafton Drive around 9:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Heavy smoke and fire was seen coming from the roof of the business when crews arrived on scene, said York County Fire spokesman Paul Long.

It took firefighters about 30 minutes to extinguish the flames. Nobody was inside the business at the time and no injuries were reported.

The shop sustained heavy damage as a result of the blaze, Long said. No word yet on what caused the fire.

An investigation is now underway.
